The Interventional Radiology department at Narayana Health is among the few in the country and utilises minimally invasive image-guided technique to diagnose and treat nearly every organ system. The objective of Interventional Radiology is to minimise risk to the patient and improve health outcomes. The interventional radiologists use X-Ray, CT and other imaging to advance instruments in the body, such as in an artery, to treat the disease at the source. Many conditions that once required surgery can be treated less invasively by interventional radiologists. These treatments offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time compared to open surgery. Interventional techniques used by the department include embolization, chemoembolization, ablation, balloons and stents, and needle biopsy and drainage.
