Master Ikemefuna Derrick Ifechukwu had a hole in the heart and diseases attached to it. He was very weak and was not able to even walk a little distance. The family visited many hospitals and after the investigations, the patient was referred to Narayana Health. The surgery was performed successfully and the patient is doing well now. Master Oluwatoyin Abdul Salam is a six-year-old boy from Nigeria suffering from Cerebro-oculo-facio-skeletal syndrome. He was operated on and placed on antibiotics for 42 days. The mother of the patient met Dr. Devi Shetty and was suggested to do surgery. After 2 months the surgery was performed successfully. Master Allen Tarfa Soloman from Nigeria had a hole in the heart which is known as Tetralogy of Fallot. The family got to know about Narayana Health by Kanu Heart Foundation. The surgery was performed successfully. Now the patient is recovering and doing well. The mother of the patient is very happy and thanked the staff of Narayana Health.

 As we head closer to World Sickle Cell Day, Mr. and Mrs. Soneye parents of Sonaye and Judah are much relieved as their children today are free of Sickle Cell Disease, a complex life threatening condition.  The children were saved through haplo bone marrow transplant at Narayana Health City.

Six month old James and John are back to their playful self after the corrective surgery at Narayana Health City. Hailing from Nigeria James and John were conjoined twins. The babies were omphalopagus twins, that is they were joined at the upper part of their abdomen. The doctors at Narayana Health City have successfully separated them giving them a new lease of life.

Baby Miracle from Nigeria was treated for a condition known as “Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)” which is one of the common causes of ‘”blue babies”, Dr. Debasis Das Consultant - Cardiac Surgery along with his multidisciplinary team at NSH Howrah successfully operated baby Miracle. Back in his home country Omarzai Musadiq, a 2 years old baby, was diagnosed with a Ventricular Septal Defect. They came to Narayana Hospital for treatment and upon tests they were advised a VSD Closure procedure, which is the commonly advised treatment for such a defect. He had a speedy recovery and his smile was the reward that was needed. 4 year old Zaynab Nazari also came along with Omarzai for a similar defect in her heart. However, in her case a VSD Closure procedure using a stent was performed. She did not have to undergo an open-heart surgery as an intravenous approach was taken.

Mrs. Patience Ikwunze from Nigeria was despondent after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer but thankfully, a fellow cancer survivor referred her to Narayana Health. Mrs. Ikwunze and her husband were impressed with the facilities at the Hospital, the care and motivation provided by Dr. Pragnya Coca, Consultant, Medical Oncology, and the services provided by the patient team. Mr. Atolagbe Koya had been on dialysis for three years when his doctors in Nigeria advised him to seek a kidney transplant and recommended Narayana Health.
